VIBROACOUSTIC MATERIALS s|REZO|
advanced structures for vibration and noise reduction
Vibroacoustic metamaterials s|REZO| are a lightweight alternative to traditional, heavy damping solutions. Their unique geometry effectively dampens low-frequency noise and vibrations without significantly increasing the weight or size of the structure.

HOW DO s|REZO| METAMATERIALS WORK?
The effectiveness of s|REZO| stems from its geometry, not the surface mass of the material used. Passive structures, composed of small masses on flexible beams, resonate under the influence of vibrations. In this way, they absorb the energy of waves propagating through the structure. As a result, they effectively dampen noise and vibrations at the source.
s|REZO| TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION
CASE STUDY: SOUNDPROOFING A HOMAG MACHINE WITH s|MIX| PANELS
Challenge: excessive noise from the open HOMAG line, generating the risk of penalties and hazards for employees. Traditional enclosures were not an option.
Solution: use of s|MIX| acoustic panels with s|REZO| core, precisely tuned to the noise characteristics of the machine.
Result: noise reduction to a safe level (below 85 dB), ensuring compliance with EU standards and eliminating the risk of downtime.

MAIN APPLICATIONS OF METAMATERIAL TECHNOLOGY s|REZO|
The ability to suppress low-frequency noise without adding unnecessary weight makes s|REZO| the ideal choice for demanding industries. They can be used both as an addition to existing structures (retrofit) and as an integral part of new designs. We manufacture s|REZO| from materials tailored to the specifics of each project. We offer, among others, high flame retardancy (V-0) plastics, transparent plastics, and plastics resistant to chemicals and UV radiation.
Industry, Manufacturing and Energy
Installation in transformer enclosures, pumps or ventilation systems will reduce noise without costly infrastructure reconstruction.
- Easy retrofitting: thanks to their thickness of less than 2 cm, the panels fit even in tight technical rooms.
- Health and safety compliance: s|REZO| reduces noise at workstations to legally required levels.
- Low frequency reduction: effective reduction of low-frequency noise (by up to 15 dB), typical for transformers and motors.
- Resistance to harsh conditions: variants available in chemically resistant, non-flammable and weather-resistant materials.

OEM products (household appliances, automotive and transport)
s|REZO| metamaterials are ideal for mass-produced products. They enable effective reduction of vibrations and noise in vehicles, household appliances and automotive components.
- Ease of integration: s|REZO| can be designed as an element integrated into the housing already at the component moulding stage.
- Minimal interference with the design: thickness <2 cm and weight approx. 3 kg/m² allow for installation without the need to redesign the structure.
- Market advantage: a quieter product stands out from the competition. s|REZO| allows you to achieve this advantage with minimal impact on manufacturing costs.
- Precise tuning: we can tailor the effective range of the metamaterial to a specific acoustic problem.
Construction and Architecture (Lightweight Structures)
s|REZO| metamaterials can be integrated into lightweight systems (plasterboard walls, suspended ceilings, facades). They increase their sound insulation and reduce the transmission of vibrations from technical rooms.
- An alternative to front walls: a thickness of <2 cm allows for integration inside a double plasterboard wall or replacement of thick front walls, which saves usable space.
- Minimum load on the structure: weight approx. 3 kg/m² allows for improved acoustic standards in renovations and suspended ceilings without adding weight to the floor.
- High acoustic insulation against airborne sound Rw and vibration transmission reduction: s|REZO| effectively blocks annoying low frequencies and dampens structural noise (e.g. from lift shafts) transmitted through walls and ceilings.
- Design freedom: transparent material options enable the design of modern interiors that meet acoustic standards.

KEY PROPERTIES OF METAMATERIALS s|REZO|

Effective suppression of low frequencies
Increases the acoustic insulation of the partition by up to 15 dB in the most difficult to soundproof bands.

Precise tuning = complete noise control
The scope of the structure’s operation is adjusted to the noise characteristics of the device (in the range of 50 Hz – 2000 Hz).

Lightweight and compact design
Thickness < 2 cm and surface weight approx. 3 kg/m². s|REZO| saves space and does not weigh down the structure.

Freedom of choice of materials
Available in specialized materials: high-grade flame-retardant (V-0), UV-stabilized, or chemical-resistant materials.
METAMATERIALS s|REZO| IN OUR PRODUCTS

s|FLEX| PANEL (Rw 25 dB)
Mobility and precise soundproofing
In s|FLEX| panels, s|REZO| technology creates a lightweight (7 kg/m²) and flexible barrier. The metamaterial core is tuned to dampen low frequencies (typical for generators or construction work), ensuring high efficiency in a mobile form.

s|MIX| PANEL (Rw 29 dB)
Industrial durability and high insulation
In s|MIX| panels, the s|REZO| core increases sound insulation in difficult frequency ranges without significantly increasing weight. The effectiveness of sound attenuation is adapted to the type of noise, which enables the construction of weight-optimised machine enclosures and barriers.
THE POWER OF GEOMETRY. Effectiveness confirmed by research
The effectiveness of s|REZO| technology stems from its precisely designed geometry. Its efficiency has been confirmed by tests conducted in accordance with the ISO PN-EN ISO 10140-2 standard. The measurements presented in the graph compare the insulation properties of a standard metal partition with a partition reinforced only with a light layer of s|REZO| metamaterial.
The addition of structures weighing only approx. 3 kg/m² significantly increases sound insulation, especially in the troublesome low and medium frequency ranges. This proves that s|REZO| effectively reduces noise without the need for heavy and thick soundproofing materials.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Based on spectral noise analysis, we identify the most troublesome frequencies. Then, using numerical modelling, we design the geometry of the resonators (mass, shape and distribution) so that they most effectively dampen the energy of specific problematic bands.
Traditional materials dampen sound mainly through mass – the greater the mass, the better the barrier. s|REZO| metamaterials work precisely thanks to their geometry. Because they are ‘tuned’ to a specific problem, they can be many times lighter (approx. 3 kg/m²) and thinner (<2 cm), while being more effective in the selected frequency band.
s|REZO| is a technology that we integrate into specific solutions, rather than a catalogue product. We offer it in three ways:
Acoustic panel core: as a ready-made solution in s|MIX| and s|FLEX| products.
OEM solutions: designed for a specific serial product (e.g. household appliances, vehicles).
Engineering projects: individual solutions for construction and industry.
Since effectiveness depends on geometry, we select the base material according to the application requirements. As standard, these are durable engineering plastics, but we also offer variants with specialised properties, e.g. high flame retardancy (V-0), UV or chemical resistance, and even transparency (crystal clear).
