THE POWER OF METAMATERIALS
Silencions s|R| vibroacoustic metamaterials are advanced passive structures consisting of small masses mounted on beams of precisely defined lengths and placed at precisely defined distances on the available surface.
Resonators introduced into vibration receive the acoustic energy of the incident wave, effectively suppressing both noise and vibration.
Thanks to the specific geometry of the resonators, the operating range of the structure can be individually adapted to the characteristics of noise and vibrations generated by devices that require damping and can be in the frequency range from 50 Hz to 2000 Hz.
METAMATERIALS VS. MATERIALS
The effectiveness of Silencions s|R| vibroacoustic metamaterials results directly from their geometric design. Therefore, it is independent of the material from which they are made.
Thanks to this, we can make s|R| structures from a material (plastic) with parameters tailored to your needs and specific industrial applications, e.g.: high flammability class, high resistance to UV radiation and selected chemicals. Resonators can be even transparent!
