ENABLE SILENCE

REDUCING NOISE AND VIBRATION IN DAILY LIFE

Silencions is an interdisciplinary team consisting of experienced engineers and scientists who earned their doctorates and gained experience during their scientific and research work in renowned research centers and at the best technical universities in different parts of Europe, e.g. in Switzerland, Italy, United Kingdom.

NOISE AND HEALTH

Noise is one of the many negative factors that influences our health and well-being. Long-term exposure to noise can cause irreversible damage to the hearing system, such as eardrum loss in the case of short-term exposure to sound pressure peaks exceeding 130 dB, or significant damage in the form of an increase in hearing thresholds as a result of long-term exposure to noise levels exceeding 80 dB(A).
It is of particular concern to those exposed to noise in the workplace. Hearing impairment has been at the top of the list of occupational diseases for years. Every year 3000 new cases of occupational deafness are registered.

Research conducted by the Central Statistical Office on working conditions in Poland in 2020 shows that among the factors related to the work environment, the greatest threat was noise, to which 181.7 thousand people (55.1%) were exposed.

Susceptibility to the harmful effects of noise depends on hereditary and acquired characteristics and is an individual issue. Studies have been conducted to illustrate the problem of varying personal susceptibility to noise. These studies show that over a 40-year period of working in an environment where the A-weighted average sound level is 90 dB, the risk of hearing loss is 21%. Reducing the level by even 5 dB reduces this risk to 10%.

Hearing loss or damage are only some of the negative effects of noise on humans. It has been shown that exceeding a sound pressure level of 75 dB results in a marked disturbance of physiological functions, which contributes to the development of various diseases, such as pressure sickness, peptic ulcer disease, and neurosis. Weaker acoustic stimuli, with sound pressure levels of 55-75 dB(A), can cause distraction and impair performance at work.

COMPANY MISSION

Our mission is to bring silence back into everyday life. We strive to provide comfort at home and at every workplace. The wide spectrum of acoustic adaptations we offer ranges from soundproofing offices and apartments to industrial noise and vibration suppression. We provide services for a variety of industries such as aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment and household goods. To learn more about our technologies, please visit the next tab.

TECHNOLOGY

Silencions’ technology is not only based on the acoustic properties of the material itself, but also on the geometry of the structure and its periodic character. This means that our adaptations, depending on the customer’s expectations and needs, can be based on transparent, non-flammable, very light and non-thermal insulating materials. Their advantage is the ability to reduce noise and vibration even in the low frequency range, while maintaining low weight and volume of the material.

The use of classical and commercially available solutions enforces to choose between low mass and dimensions of the adaptation and its effectiveness in reducing low frequencies. Silencions, using its knowledge and many years of experience of its employees, designs structures which combine both desirable features and provide expected results.

Our solution can be used in a wide range of applications thanks to the flexibility in choosing the material from which it is made. We are able to adapt the geometry of the insulation to the object to be silenced and we operate in various branches of industry.

SERVICES

Our services are individually adapted to the given issue. We begin each project with an in-depth analysis of the problem. Then we take preliminary measurements and assess the current situation. We have professional measuring tools at our disposal.
