European Tech and Start-up Days 2020

It is an event where global brand creators, business visionaries and explorers meet. It is a space within the European Economic Congress in Katowice that brings together communities of young entrepreneurs and experts, presidents of large companies, investors and businessmen from various industries.

Part of the event is the Start-up Challenge competition, in which nearly 250 start-ups from all over the world took part. Of course, we could not be missing among them.

Initially, we were among the top 100 most promising young innovative companies, and in the next stage of the competition we made it to the final eighteen. Three most interesting start-ups were qualified to each of the six contest categories. Silencions competed in Tradition & Modernity category and the competition was fierce. Emotions were additionally heated by the presence of quite a large audience. Over three thousand guests attended the whole congress in person, and over 100 thousand viewers watched it online! Many of them cheered on the competition presentations. We are extremely happy that we could present our idea to such a broad audience.

Our technology was of great interest. No wonder. Noise is a by-product of civilization, and silence is becoming a scarce commodity. Research shows that every fifth of us is exposed to noise levels far exceeding acceptable standards. Neglecting this issue can negatively affect not only our health, but also the environment. Noise is an extremely serious problem that must be addressed as soon as possible.

Our technology can make a real difference! Silencions’ innovative solution achieves unprecedented noise and vibration reduction without adding structural weight or power. Silencions aims to improve the quality of life by reducing noise levels in everyday life. Our mission is to silence, among others, vehicles, construction machinery and household appliances.

During the European Economic Congress our idea met with an extremely enthusiastic reception and so we found ourselves among the winners of the competition, winning a special prize in the form of an investment advisory package from the Katowice Special Economic Zone for which we are very grateful. We also had the pleasure to give a few TV interviews on the occasion of the congress. We thank for the opportunity to present our solution and its warm reception. Finally, we returned from Katowice with new business contacts and a huge portion of positive energy.
